• MoboDb (Mobile Object Database)
Traditional relational databases, such as Oracle, IBM's DB2, and Microsoft's SQL server, store data in a row-and-column structure. However, as object-oriented models became popular, developers became increasingly frustrated by the time required to map objects into a relational database structure.
MoboDB is an object database for mobile devices that allows the storage of selected objects in the device memory. This allows the programmer to directly access the objects in the database. Data access is very fast due to the use of BTree algorithms.
Features:
- Runs on any mobile phone with J2ME (MIDP 1.0 CLDC 1.0);
- Database searches by object attributes;
- Fast searches using BTree indexes;
- Cashing of frequently used objects; and
- Relationships between objects, either one-to-one or one-to-many.

• Mobile Alerter (MA)
This application is being developed for the Bucharest Police Department, Romania. It is a client-server application whose main purpose is to provide a low-cost means of communication between the police force in the field and the police headquarters.
Similar to MR, Mobile Alerter can operate in two modes: • In PULL Mode it allows police officers to access information such as car ownership, stolen car license plate numbers, driver records, etc.
• In PUSH Mode it alerts the police forces about emergency situations and special events such as car accidents, burglaries, emergency calls, etc. Server component: It is a web application that can be accessed from the field. Users may be assigned several levels of access rights to various types of information. Users may also be assigned to distribution groups. Each distribution group may be associated with a priority level that governs the alerts sending order to the groups. Client component: The application starts automatically (depending on the mobile device) at the moment a new alert is received, thus informing the user about the reception of a new alert. Each user has several options regarding the received alerts, such as: • classify them by type or level of importance
• view the text of the alert
• view the attached photo in case the alert has one
• delete old, unnecessary alerts. Each registered user can also remotely interrogate police central databases for information such as stolen property according to certain defined parameters (e.g., license plate number, vehicle identification number, car make, model, year, personal ID, criminal record, etc.).

SMS Dispatcher is an affordable and effective routing management tool based on SMS. The scheduler sets up one or more routes, each defined by a number of checkpoints. At each checkpoint, the user sends an SMS to the office server with job-relevant data, such as location, volume and type of merchandise dropped off/ picked-up, etc. The received data allows the home office to track the locations and condition of its assets. SMS Dispatcher benefits trucking businesses, coach travel companies, couriers and messengers, etc. The capital and O&M costs of this system are minimal compared to GPS-based systems. The program consists of a client module and a server module. SMS Dispatcher runs on any mobile phone with J2ME (MIDP 1.0 CLDC 1.0, Wireless Messaging API).

In turn each user can perform searches on all linked phones in the Bluetooth vicinity, transfer and/or use public data and resources from all other phones. The goal of Bluetooth Sharing is to stimulate the creation, communication and sharing of data in local communities.
